Jameson Eliott - Milwaukee Birth Story
On Wednesday, June 29th 2016, I was able to photograph my second birth ever. Births are SO AMAZING and are easily becoming one of my favorite moments to photograph. I am always honored to have the privilege to photograph such an intimate and private moment. There is so much stress but so much love and emotion - it's seriously incredible.
I met Ashley as a Thirty-One Gifts consultant in our team meetings a few years ago. Her family is another I've photographed through out the years, that I've been able to watch grow as they've helped me grow as a photographer and an artist.
On Wednesday, I finished work at St. Luke's and waited for them to call me in. I left work at about 3:30p and headed to another Milwaukee hospital. As I got there, Ashley and Cody were the only ones in the room watching Everybody Loves Raymond and waiting to see how far dilated she was. I'm so glad I left when I did. She's a trooper so as she waited she decided against an epidural. Shortly after, her pain level shot up and an anesthesiologist was called in and she signed the release. The nurse came back in to check and see how she was doing as they were prepping her for the epidural. Well, being her fourth child, all of a sudden there was no time for an epidural. Baby was coming. The doctor rushed in and insisted she had to wait a second. There was no waiting. After what I'm pretty sure was the second push - Jameson Eliott was here and healthy. It was 4:43pm and he was absolutely beautiful. Ashley, you are incredible. Congratulations again to you & Cody and your beautiful family!
